Wikipedia - Tindastóll men's basketball
The Tindastóll men's basketball team, commonly known as Tindastóll, is the men's basketball department of the Ungmennafélagið Tindastóll sport club. It is based in Sauðárkrókur, Iceland. As of the 2018–19 season it played in Úrvalsdeild karla. In 2015 and 2018, it was the runner up to the Icelandic national championship. On January 13, 2018, the club won its first major title when it beat KR in the Icelandic Basketball Cup finals. On 30 September 2018, Tindastóll defeated KR in the Icelandic Super Cup, 103-72.
On 18 May 2023, Tindastóll won its first national championship after defeating Valur 3-2 in a finals rematch from 2022.
Il Tindastóll è una squadra di pallacanestro di Kópavogur, in Islanda. Fondata nel 1974, milita nella Úrvalsdeild karla, la massima divisione del campionato islandese. La squadra è soprannominata "I blu" o "Gli orsi polari".
I Tindastóll hanno vinto 10 titoli nazionali, di cui 9 consecutivi tra il 1998 e il 2006, e 10 Coppe d'Islanda. Sono l'unica squadra islandese ad aver raggiunto la fase a gironi della FIBA Europe Cup.
