Debreceni Egyetemi Atlétikai Club is a professional sport club based in Debrecen, Hajdú-Bihar County, Hungary, that competes in the Nemzeti Bajnokság III, the third tier of Hungarian football.
History
Debreceni EAC competed in the 2019–20 Nemzeti Bajnokság III.
On 3 July 2019, Elemér Kondás was appointed as the manager of the club.
On 3 December 2019, Kondás resigned because he received an offer from Győri ETO FC
On 15 January 2020, László Schőn was appointed as the manager of the club.
The 2019-20 Nemzeti Bajnokság III was terminated in May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The club was positioned in the first place thus gaining promotion to the Nemzeti Bajnokság II. On 6 May 2020, it was announced that the club would play in the 2020-21 Nemzeti Bajnokság II.
On 8 May 2020, it was announced that the club could play their home matches at the Debreceni VSC's Nagyerdei Stadion.
Il club venne fondato nel 1902 come Debreceni MOVE, cambiando nome in Debreceni EAC nel 1919. Nel 1976 venne promosso per la prima volta nella massima serie ungherese. Raggiunse per la prima volta le semifinali della Coppa d'Ungheria nel 1988, e poi le vinse nel 1999.
Il Debreceni EAC ha vinto per 7 volte il campionato ungherese, nel 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2010, 2012 e 2014, e per 6 volte la Coppa d'Ungheria, nel 1999, 2001, 2008, 2010, 2012 e 2013. Ha anche vinto la Supercoppa d'Ungheria nel 2005, 2006, 2007, 2009 e 2010.
Il Debreceni EAC ha partecipato a diverse competizioni europee, tra cui la UEFA Champions League, l'Europa League e la Coppa delle Coppe. Ha raggiunto la fase a gironi della Champions League nella stagione 2009-10.
Nel 2015, il Debreceni EAC venne retrocesso in seconda divisione per problemi finanziari. Tuttavia, riuscì a tornare in massima serie nella stagione 2017-18.
