FC Union Mühlhausen is a German football club from Mühlhausen, Thuringia.
History
The club was founded in 1972 after the merger of BSG Post and BSG Motor. As BSG Union Mühlhausen the team played most of the times in the Bezirksliga, the third level. In 1989, the team promoted to the DDR-Liga but was demoted after only one season. After German reunification the team took the name SV Union. After a merger in 1994 with Fitniss 90, the team took the name SV 1899 Mühlhausen, in memory of the legendary club that played in the local football before World War II. FC Germania, its predecessor was one of the founding members of the German Football Association (Deutscher Fussball Bund or German Football Association) at Leipzig in 1900.
In 1997, the football department became independent again as FC Union Mühlhausen. SV 1899 remained active in football but plays at lower levels. FC Union Mühlhausen won promotion to the tier six Thüringenliga in 2010 and has been playing at this level until 2016, achieving a third-place finish as its best result in 2013–14. A 15th-place finish in 2015–16 meant relegation to the Landesklasse for the club.

Storia:
Le origini del club risalgono al 1927, quando fu fondato come AS Mulhouse. Il club si unì alla Federazione francese di calcio nel 1932 e iniziò a gareggiare nella Coupe de France. Nel 1940, l'Alsazia fu annessa alla Germania nazista e l'AS Mulhouse cambiò il suo nome in FC Mülhausen.
Dopo la seconda guerra mondiale, l'FC Mülhausen riprese a giocare nella Coupe de France e nel 1956 raggiunse per la prima volta i sedicesimi di finale. Negli anni '60 e '70, il club ottenne risultati significativi, vincendo il campionato di Division d'Honneur Alsace nel 1964, 1968 e 1970.
Nel 1985, l'FC Mülhausen vinse il campionato di Division 4 e fu promosso in Division 3. Il club rimase in Division 3 per cinque stagioni, retrocedendo in Division 4 nel 1990.
Nel 2001, l'FC Mülhausen fu promosso in CFA, il quarto livello del calcio francese. Il club rimase in CFA per otto stagioni, retrocedendo in Division d'Honneur Alsace nel 2009.
Nel 2014, l'FC Mülhausen vinse nuovamente il campionato di Division d'Honneur Alsace e fu promosso in CFA 2. Il club rimase in CFA 2 per tre stagioni, retrocedendo in Division d'Honneur Alsace nel 2017.
Nel 2021, l'FC Mülhausen vinse per la terza volta il campionato di Division d'Honneur Alsace e fu promosso in National 3.
Strutture:
Il FC Mülhausen gioca le sue partite casalinghe allo Stade de l'Ill, uno stadio con una capacità di 11.303 spettatori. Lo stadio è stato inaugurato nel 1953 e ha ospitato numerose partite internazionali, tra cui una partita della Coppa del Mondo FIFA 1998.
