Lo Shelbourne Football Club è una società calcistica irlandese con sede nella città di Dublino.

History

Fondata nel 1895, gioca le sue partite casalinghe in tenuta rossa con risvolti bianchi al Tolka Park. Nel 2006 è stata relegata nella FAI First Division, la seconda divisione irlandese, pur essendosi laureata campione nazionale, per problemi economici. È la terza squadra più titolata, con 13 titoli vinti all'attivo dietro agli Shamrock Rovers (17 titoli) ed al Dundalk (14).

Lo Shelbourne Football Club, noto semplicemente come Shelbourne o Shels o Shel's, è una squadra di calcio irlandese fondata nel 1895 e con sede a Dublino. È una delle squadre più titolate del paese, avendo vinto 13 campionati nazionali, 10 coppe nazionali e 3 coppe di lega.

Lo Shelbourne è noto anche per le sue partecipazioni alle competizioni europee, avendo raggiunto i quarti di finale della Coppa delle Coppe UEFA nel 1963-64 e i sedicesimi di finale della Coppa UEFA nel 2004-05.

I colori sociali della squadra sono il rosso, il bianco e il nero. Lo stadio di casa è il Tolka Park, situato nel nord di Dublino.

La tifoseria dello Shelbourne è una delle più grandi e appassionate d'Irlanda. La squadra è soprannominata "The Reds" o "The Hoops" a causa dei colori sociali.

Lo Shelbourne ha una lunga rivalità con i concittadini dello Shamrock Rovers. Le due squadre si affrontano annualmente nella Dublin Derby, una delle partite di calcio più importanti d'Irlanda.
